Separation
By Dave Hanks
When one is such a big part of another’s life
Sunshine dims and the dark increases
At her passing
Once shared joys are now lusterless
Anticipation dissipated
And life becomes mundane
A seemingly near perfect union
Made me better in every way
My prayer is that I elevated her
As she did me
Anything less than this
Would be unacceptable
Replacement is out of the question
An unholy, unacceptable solution
Though I now live for my family
I long to join her
Music encompasses my days
Causing me to cry so easily and often
