My Wife

By Dave Hanks

What Strange events they are that alter what might have been,
And set life's course upon its true direction.
And who so lucky as he,
Who experiences true love along the way.

Love so full, so deep, so abiding: That one becomes part of the other. She was my passion and fulfillment and I became addicted - As much as if she were a drug and I a slave to the relationship.

A quiet, non-showy relationship; but what dependency it caused! Communicator, sounding board, idea giver; The force behind the front - Our minds intertwined as if both derived from a common point.

My life was full and rich and she a major force behind it. A gift of serenity to each other. I loved her hard and deep, From the depths of my inner being!
